History

KAPPLER was created in 1947 as a 2-man operation. One of the partners took an active roll in the building industry and the other in his carpenter's workshop crafting furniture. The company grew in the 50's and became a trend setter. Large projects such as congress halls and hospitals were undertaken and completed.

In the 60's, along with their core business, Kappler started to build and supply physicians with cabinetry and other equipment. That portion of the business involving the medical industry increased so strongly that in 1977 MED+ORG was created by Kappler and other partners to focus on the needs of physicians. In 1991 Kappler became the sole owner of MED+ORG and is now operated as a wholly owned subsidiary of Kappler GmbH

In the 90's showrooms were built in the Pfalzgrafenweiler manufacturing facility as well as in Wittstock in Berlin. Another showroom was added in the LOD Mountains.

After many successful years, KAPPLER has gained the experience and market share necessary to become a leader in the industry and in 1994 introduced the Orgatec, an office furniture system featuring the O, T+S line. Additional products and systems followed. The company has expanded beyond Germany and now serves Austria, Switzerland and Luxembourg along with Scandinavia, Ireland and France, USA and Canada.
